HE RAUTAKI MARAE

(FINANCIAL CAPABILITY) HUI
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Tū Maia in conjunction with Māori Women’s Development Inc (MWDI) is excited to bring this innovative financial capability toolkit to support Māori whānau to access tips and ideas to transform our understanding, behaviour, use and relationship to money. We see He Papa Pūtea as a stepping stone to help support whānau towards achieving economic success on your own terms.

A FINANCIAL TOOLKIT FOR WHĀNAU

Financial capability is about whānau being equipped and empowered to take charge of their lives and build a more secure – wealthier and enriching – future for themselves.

Ko tēnei rawa he kohikohinga kōrerorero, pānui hei hiki ake ngā mōhiotanga e pā ana ki te whakahāere, whakatakoto pūtea ā muri ake nei.
The aim of He Rautaki Marae – Finanical Capability hui and its toolkit is to provide you with ideas to assist you and your whānau to make better informed decisions about how best to manage your finances, and to plan for your future.
In the toolkit you will learn about the history of money in Aotearoa, real challenges facing Māori relating to wealth accumulation and ideas to get around this. We will share tips to get your finances sorted; how to better understand your attitudes to money; how to achieve your financial dreams and goals; how to manage your debts; save for emergencies; understand banks and banking; how to have money conversations as whānau; and where to go to for help.
